Economic data showing the economy is in less dire straits than it was at the start of the year drove stocks sharply higher in the spring, but lately investors have been looking for more consistent evidence of a sustained recovery and it seem they are not getting it. Investors are looking ahead now to the second-quarter earning reports to come out. Until then, the stock market is not going anywhere.
